["We recognise that the family is under pressure. Not only are we having smaller households, more seniors are also living apart from their children.']

Vivian Balakrishnan is attempting to deceive. The pressure is not with the family, but the PAP government. This family arrangement is an inescapable result of the government socio-economic policies. And it creates more difficulties for the government. Sadly, millionaire bullies like Vivian insists on piling the blame on the people.

He's merely speaking from his position as a PAP Minister. Don't blame him. Whether or not these measures are effective will be evident in time.
