THE ruling People's Action Party (PAP) will have the next generation of political leaders in place by the next general election in 2011 or 2012, said Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong yesterday.
Thank goodness, PAP doesn't have any serious problems like the ruling parties in Japan and Malaysia. Those guys need to learn from the PAP on the art of clinging onto power.
Some army generals?
Some head of GLC or NTUC?
Some high flying office bearers from private company?
Some lawyers?
I am not interested where these people coming from. I am more interested in how much they know about the ground and what they can do for us.
Remember all political parties put forward their candidates but it is Singaporean who choose the MP.
We have seen how some of the recent MPs have performed. It's no longer true that PAP candidates are superior than the oppositions in terms of understanding the people and the problems they face.
