Benitez's head on the chopping block
November 02, 2009 Monday, 05:15 AM
LONDON: The knives are out for Rafael Benitez, who refused to write off Liverpool's Premier League title chances despite losing 1-3 at Fulham - their sixth loss in their past seven games.

I am never in favour of changing managers during the course of a season. The disruption & uncertainty will only cause Liverpool to drop more points.
Even Kenny Dalglish cannot replicate his past successes with the Reds, if given the reins now. Where can he find the greats such as Graeme Souness, Terry McDermott, Ian Rush, John Barnes, Peter Beardsley, Steve McMahon, Alan Hansen, Mark Lawrenson, Alan Kennedy, & most of all, another King Kenny on the field, to make Liverpool great again?

I guess the season is over for EPL championship. But we should keep our heads up for the top four. Benitez need to be strong.
Never give up, never surrender!

Eagle2004,
"I am never in favour of changing managers during the course of a season. The disruption & uncertainty will only cause Liverpool to drop more points."
- they can write off the season. changing a manager (now) might just be good timing.... as the next manager will have time to fit in.... experiment....for the title charge next season on a "clean" slate.

......look at Rafa Benitez, he has lost all ideas on how to propel the team.........
.....lividpooh was fully motivated to beat a renowned giant like Man United with or without Rafa Benitez...........
.....but when they played against the minnows, there was no enthuaisam........

.....it was poetic justice for Jamie Carragher to be sent off as he had managed to hoodwink the referee on a blatant foul in the previous United match..............

I think Rafa throw in the towel too easily.
Some of his substitutions seem intend on keeping player 'fresh'.
If the opposition score first, they will let their head down. There's little fighting spirit.
And when they lead, they cannot hold on....
This lack of belief is the main cause of concern.

.....Arsene Wenger and Alex Ferguson showed mettle when they hit a bad spell and most often than not managed to pull up their socks by stringing in consecutive victories.............
.....but not Rafa Benetiz..........he's a amateurish, awkward, bungling, bush-league, clumsy, disqualified, floundering, helpless, inadequate, incapable, ineffectual, inefficient, ineligible, inept, inexperienced, inexpert, insufficient, maladroit, not cut out for, not equal to, not have it, out to lunch, raw, unadapted, unequipped, unfit, unfitted, unhandy, uninitiated, unproficient, unqualified, unskilled, untrained and useless manager.......... therefore he's without doubt a addlebrain, blockhead, blunderer, bonehead, botcher, bumbler, butcher, butterfingers, clod, clumsy oaf, dolt, donkey, duffer, dunce, featherbrain, fool, foul-up, fumbler, goof off, goofball, harebrain, idiot, ignoramus, incompetent, klutz, mismanager, muddler, muffer, numskull, screw up and spoiler..................
