Should teens in love be prosecuted if they have underage sex?

It is high time for our laws to be mature as well. Dont be so old fashion minded. The more you forbid them the more they will want.

Its all about what is the end result. Is it alright to be liberal and encourage moral decay in our society? Give them the freedom to do what they want? Let teenagers freely have sex ,smoke, and experiment taking drugs? How far do you let go? Teenagers without guidance are most likely to go on the path of self destruction.

Fully agree with orangemonster. Here is a more detailed thought.

Didn't Aware say sex was perfectly normal even for kids? What's wrong now? Change of plan?

Few interesting blogs on this:

Today's teenagers mature earlier than we thought. If they are mature enough to solicit sex, be runners of loan sharks, revengefully soliciting strangers to rape their enemies, they would have to face punishments. I don't think 14 years old teens today should be considered immature for sex - I would not be surprised that they are more media and techno savvy than many of the parents reading this here.

The teaching on moral, responsibility, abstinence and contraception needs to be done by parents and teachers. If the 14 years old teens are considered not mature enough to take the responsibility, probably the parents should go to jail instead for neglecting to impart knowledge. Parents always give excuses of busy and trying to make ends meet BUT their negligence to their kids shall have costly effect to the society. More time must be spend with their teens to educate moral, monitor their media choices, internet activities and friends that they are with. If above could not be achieved, teen sex, teen STD, teen pregnancy figures would just grow exponential that no law can do anything about it.

So what can we do?

It's their body, it's their mind, if they want to treat it the way they like, no one can force them.
prosecute them may have adverse effects, why not spend time and effort, governement money (oh, tax payer's money) to educate them.

Education is for sure but our law keep up to pace too.

1. Only if the teens are in love and they have sex we let them go? How about casual sex where they deemed 'cool'?
2. Putting more people to jail does it help?
3. Putting parents to jail helps more?
4. Maturity Age of Teens today? If average age of sex is at 14 today, how many people are we going to put in jail? Thousands or Ten Thousands?

Teen soliciting for sex - is that from an immature mind? even many adults would not match that talent - skills needed (haha). If the teens succeeded? how to handle such cases?
