Unconscious but no help from MRT station staff
February 04, 2009 Wednesday, 01:56 AM

RECENTLY, I was at the Commonwealth MRT Station platform when I passed out. I was told that I was lying on the platorm unconscious for a good 10 minutes.

Ms Rao, while I empathise with your situation but there are a few queries left unanswered. You were told that you laid there for 10 minutes, maybe it was less and no one really spotted you? You claimed no one came to assist you until the school boy. Maybe he is the first to have seen you? Aren't you satisfied that a boy assisted you or do you still expect hundreds to do so?

You did not state the time of your trip and whether it was crowded and many others around.

perhaps the CCTV was not able to cover that angle. and it's was an off-peak hour. therefore no one notice you. it's best if you could view the cctv footage but i think you need some form of order.

I dont think the issue is waiting for hundreds to help her. She's concerned why there wasnt any help during that time. The attitude of most SIngaporeans are simply bo-chap! Just look at those old people or pregnant ladies not given a seat on the train!

I agree with Ms. Rao. At Sembawang Station, we have CCTV, and also a personnel at the ticket concourse "Security Check" counter, the personnel was busy chatting with her relative or friend rather than making her rounds. I had to prompt her when I saw a "suspicious looking person" (ya right!) -- a group of boys with (suspicious behaviour actually) lighting some crumbled papers.

At the other station, I saw a personnel taking a nap at the "Security Counter".

SO SMRT! What's up with your resources? One (CCTV) got no current (is it?) and the other (personnel) sleeping and chatting on the job!! Time for you to employ something or someone that works!

This explained why trains are full every morning and during peak times when actually they are half empty....because many selfish commuters chose to stand near the doors and refused to make way for others to board the train.....this is all the fault of the MRT station staffs who would rather sit on their a*** in the comfort of their cubicles than to usher commuters not to block train entrances......

The staff thought that you were sleeping. The did not want to disturb your dream...!!!!. MRT staff are the most casual labourers in singapore. Even if a fire breaks out or an earthquake occurs trhey will remain unmoved.

Hey, come on lobo,

Use your brain (if you have). The staff were sitting inside the cubicle at the passenger service. the lady was lying on the platform. They could see a hazy picture on their monitor. People were walking around too. The rest I leave you to surmise.

Seems like you got a brainless job. It's difficult for me to keep my productivity up because I don't feel like I am actually producing anything.

All I do is to sitting inside the cubicle, remain unmoved for no reason. I can't live with myself because I don't accomplish anything useful.

Murali,

so now the cctv is 'hazy' liaoz.. hahaha. I know you have a brain, coz everyone does (only one who does not have one would question if other has it .... wait, did you just asked if I have one? lol), so don't use it all up just trying to think of excuses.

To be fair, I have no idea how 'profusely' her bleeding is. Though if someone is LYING on the platform, I would be inclined to take a better look via the 'hazy' monitor... that is, if my job is to monitor the monitors... and that I was diligently carrying out my duty.
