Get rid of rat menace at once
February 01, 2009 Sunday, 02:00 AM

Having rats at Singapore's 'Ginza' (Orchard Road) is worse than putting up with the dirty cooking and street hawking of bygone days.

Rats are rarely seen in the Orchard Road area in the past.
I believe this is related to the reduction of the stray cat population, as a result of culling of stray cats.
People who call for the culling of stray cats cannot complain.
In the past stray cats had done a good job in keeping down the rat population.
I also notice an increase in rats in HDB garbage centres.
With their natural predator removed, it is no surprise to me that rats are starting to appear, even in areas like Orchard Road.

Cats are not foolish enough to take on large & ferocious rats. Mice are their prey.

Irresponsible cat-feeders & litter bugs are causing the growth of the rat population by leaving food out in the open.

The P.Sec of the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources should spend time to look at rodents in Geylang.

Yes. Imagine having some rats in your food. That would be so disgusting.

By the way, how did the rats manage to get to Orchard?

Imagine how many dirty rats have been scurrying across, urinating & defecating on the seats at the bus stop, in front of the Somerset MRT Station, during the early hours of the morning!

I think that the people who love to litter should stop. If they stop, then the rats would not come! So,I think that people should stop littering. Thanks to those who will understand.
