TOP civil servant Tan Yong Soon has been rapped for a travelogue he wrote about his family holiday to Paris to learn cooking French cuisine at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu.
<Mrs Josephine Teo (Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC) however said she would rather wait first to see how bad the crisis gets.
'The conservative part of me says we really do not know how long this crisis is going to last. Will we risk running out of ammunition when we most need it?' >
well, i guess he had been well brought up and never went thru hardships. anyway, it's truly unnecessary to tell people how much he spent. this will surely invite criticisms although it's his money.
well, rather prefer the civil servants continue to write, so that we are reminded of the high salaries they are drawing . . . which explain the numerous taxes that we have to pay . . .and why GST cannot come down . . . . .
Yes, these top civil servant from the admin service are paid a million or more a year, surely they can afford such luxuries. $15,500 a meal, wow! I thought we can only see rich business tycoon affording such meals, now I know Singaporean civil servant can too!.
Well that's our civil service. They claim to understand the problems faced by the people of the 'ground' when their eyes are only hovering above.
Let me tell you all that this 'rich-poor' divide will get worse, a common trend around the world. However, what's unique to singapore is that more and more top government officials will come from the elitist group of people who may have never taken a cab or bus in their entire existence (i personally know of one). How can they then understand the needs of the common?
