Stray cats a pest at former Big Splash
January 16, 2009 Friday, 05:37 AM

Recently, my family and I visited East Coast Park and realised that the former Big Splash has been revamped into a lifestyle beachfront attraction that appealed greatly to my family and children.

another senseless complaint. Stay at home if you can't accept a few cats as part of nature. Want birds and butterflies,go bird park.Who throw the rubbish? Human or cat? Ppl pay for cable to watch animal chase, thr u get for free, still complain.

Wow, fierce and hungry looking cats, waiting to pounce on defenceless small kids. I'm speechless. Yeah, just stay home if you can't handle a few stray cats.

Mrs Serene Tan

You are a outright snobbish person. Complaining on defendless animals. You have money to enjoy leisure and good food, is there a need for you to deprive living creatures which also have a hungry stomach to fill?

I pray that oneday you and your children will go hungry to know what is hunger all about.

"We had expected birds and butterflies in a natural setting like this"

Hah? Ex-cue me, sure or not? Or have you been fantasising yourself in some Alice-In-Wonderland setting? Wah, been reading too much lo-mantic stories when young? Or had those glossy hotel / resort brochures got into that pretty head of yours?

"did not appreciate the extra feline activities."

Let me tell you this, Mrs Serene Tan. Animals have a very sharp sixth sense and highly perceptive, especially cats. They can tell exactly what type of person you are. Just by observing you and that's what they are good at too.

And I'm so sure that they had done a great deal of observing your undisguised disgust and hatred towards them. That they irritated you to no end. Like engaging in high-speed chase.

Why, like that also you not happy, a natural animal behaviour? You have just shown yourself to the whole wide world that you are nothing but an utterly SPOILT BRAT. An overgrown one at that.

I dread to think what sort of people your children going to become.

By the way, I do wonder who's the bigger pest. Hungry animals, or spoilt human beings who expect birds and butterflies to fly around them.

If you are really a nature-lover, you would have appreciate cats too. Only butterflies at the beach??? If you reacted with "shock & dismay" to a couple of cats, wonder what words you would use if you encounter real inconveniences like monsoon storms (nature too). Who can you write to besides ST Forum who publishes stupid letters like yours. Hope your children have better examples to learn from so they wld appreciate nature in its fullest.

This kind of letter also publish..... Think SPH shares gonna collapse.... This writer also need a serious reality check. Totally agree with some_cynic how her children will turn out. Sad world.
