Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari should refrain from criticising his players in public. How would most of us feel if our mistakes at the office are highlighted by our boss to the mass media?
Yes, Deco has not been playing to the level that we know he can. Not sure why Scolari keep playing him when he has alot of other world class player warming the bench. Mourinho will not hesitate to make 3 changes at half time though when he see something is not right.
Deco is already 31 years of age, so he may actually be in decline. However, I am inclined to believe that he has become a victim of his own high standards, as any small signs of slowing down & perceived loss of form is interpreted as evidence that his powers are on the wane. Deco belongs to a select group of players to win the European Champions League with 2 different clubs. He was also the 1st player to win the UEFA Best Midfielder Award with different clubs. On top of these achievements, Deco was handed the FIFA World Club Cup Golden Ball & Man of the Match awards in the final. His versatility is also a boon to Chelsea, as Deco can operate in central midfield, as an attacking midfielder or on both the left & right wings.
