THEY came in the thousands, bathing the National Stadium in swathes of red.

So much for Singapore's "foreign talents".

What a way for S'pore to bring the curtain down on their 19-game unbeaten run in the ASEAN Cup, stretching back 4 years. Just as the Vietnamese dominated the 1st leg without getting on the scoresheet, the Lions ruled in terms of possession & chances created, but lacked the firepower to convert them into goals. Noh Alam Shah must shoulder a huge part of the responsibility for not finding the net, on several occasions, when put through. Goals count in soccer, & the Lions came up short on this score.

The coach was no Uncle Choo.

The Vietnam coach was smart to let the Lions run out of steam. Contained them. And they turned the table on the Lions knowing they were tired, finished. Lions changed so many players and a sure sign of heavy legs.

Heavy legs cannot play soccer. Not 100% fit how to play a punishing soccer game of 90 minutes?

Unclo Choo knew the importance of 100% match fitness not the rubber legs and the fat in the body and the heaviness. Not lean and hungry-looking how to win a vital match? It was like a holiday paid soccer with no will or desire to finish the job professionally on the pitch, to score, to win.

Vietnam dominated the first leg and S'pore was lucky to get away with a draw.

S'pore dominated the second leg and Vietnam came from no where to snatch a victory.

So it was actually quite fair after all.

From the very beginning, I know that Singapore will not be able to make it...
Shi JiaYi played lousily, and Ridhuan is playing an alienated game... He kept passing the ball to the other team.
Singapore team can't defence and can't attack... They are simply not interested in being the best and to be scouted by top teams in Europe.
They are just contented with kelong, kelong and more kelong...

The MIWs must tell the FAS: if you want to win you need to have Div I players. A real quality Div I team with FTs of Div I skills.

Buying cheap Div 3 players. Cannot even beat a Vietnam kampong team. Wasting money on Div 3 professionals and wasting time.

No money for Div 1 grade. The 55000 fans will pay.

Paying no problem.

"Some fans believed that striker Aleksandar Duric and midfielder John Wilkinson, who were injured and missed the match, would have made a difference."

"'I think Duric and Wilkinson would have added more aerial and creative advantage to the team.'"

Singapore Lions toothless when got no foreigners against a kampong team..
