Government 2009 Budget in January 2009. Few days to go.

What is the wish list?

Has any media encouraged Singaporeans to discuss it and to put up the wish list for the Govt to consider?

A slump is depressing but newpapers [the medai] should dare to comment on it and ask readers what are their wish list.

These people are the same group of people that had initially misled most Singaporeans in the first place, and they're now back so fast to "advise" and "forecast" our future? Damn! When will they learn?

Subjective criticisms aside, I truly find the above financial consultants as jokers. Their comments are perfect examples why & how ignorant, superficial-thinking and continuing to be risks-takers can eventually just destroy all hard-earned life-savings of the average Joe.

For one, I think there's over-emphasis and anticipation on Obama's economy stimulants. It's not even being announced, and yet these guys are already talking with confidence that the package will DEFINITELY help stimulate the US, and even other overseas markets. I don't know how these consultants come up with their views, but I bet they do not even know how much monies the US government really have to be able to put up a really impressive stimulating package! So as of now, who are they to come up with such baseless optimism?

2nd, most of the above consultants are ignoring financial reports that will then truly show the color of this economy downturn. Apart from understanding the downsizing of the overall bottom lines, we'll also be informed of the latest shrink in Christmas spending (a very important indicator in Europe & US), and during upcoming CNY, we'll also witness the impact of this downturn on China (whom many financial consultants have wishfully hoped to rely on to get everyone out of this mess). Without such vital information, I really can't understand how these consultants can just sit in their office and bull-**** all their "forecasts"!

The latest financial news says that most of the US banks who received part of the planned US$ 700 billion bailout, cannot provide accounts how the money they received, is being utilised.
I f I were an American taxpayer I'd feel outraged.
Many of the top executives, amidst the financial turmoil are still receiving bonuses amounting to several US$ billions.
I think financial sector in the US is beyond redemption.

WHERE'S THE MONEY GOING?
It's something any bank would demand to know before handing out a loan.
But after receiving billions in aid from US taxpayers, the nations largest banks say they can't track exactly how they're spending the money, or they simply refuse to discuss it.
You're right "Kopoutking" if I'm a taxpayer in the US I'd demand a refund of all the taxes I've paid.

I totally agree these fund managers are a bunch of bull-sheeters. If not, then they are just conmen.
Here's how they con the investing public.
After they have completed their buying of a certain counter, they will then advise everyone that this is a good buy, cooking up all kinds of reasons.
As the public start buying, and the share price start moving, they will then slowly unload whatever they themselves have bought.
Similarly, if they want to buy into a certain counter, they will advise everyone that things do not look go, and you should dispose of that particular counter. After the price of that counter has fallen, they will start buying in.
