JI man freed
December 10, 2008 Wednesday, 09:09 AM
THE Malaysian government has released without publicity more than a dozen Muslim extremists linked to the Jemaah Islamiah (JI) terror organisation.
They include Malaysian Yazid Sufaat, who is believed to have abetted the Sept 11 attacks in New York.

Continuation from another thread:
"Both are important numbers and quality unless you are saying that human digits are not important at all. "If you save one life , it is as if you save all humankind"
Salvation is salvation. Not digits. Not numbers. Do humans really know what is salvation is salvation spiritually?
"NelNelNel your motives are poor but as long as you show dismal ignorance of this phenomenon I will have to rate you as a non reader of seminal works on the subject which I have time and time again publicised as essential reading."
No problem with me. Please rate, please judge. Another person's meat could be poison to someone else. Some are filth from the perspective of the Creator, spiritually. It pollutes not only the physical realm.
"... for eg when I dismiss the notion that Buddha believed in reincarnation."
I am lost on this one. Blur.
"And for once please elaborate on the following :
"Very few humans know the Principle of the Creator's Great Fairness and Great Love. Serious spiritual mistakes are made by man repeatedly and carelessly because of this basic shortcoming of humankind"
You need to research more on this spiritually to have the awakening to its spiritual meaning. You have to experience yourself spiritually as any explanation physically will not do and will not be of much use.
The current suffering of mankind [manifesting today around us at high speed in all aspects of human lives] stems from the accumulation of the spiritual mistakes made by man up till now, many living a way of life that is contrary to the Divine Will, Divine Laws and the Divine Principles of the Creator. The sufferings of each individual [mental and physical aspects] add up the sum total of human sufferings.
Many continue [repeatedly go through the cycles of sufferings one after another] not knowing the Cause and why it hits them, like they are wearing a sign proudly displaying that 'I am making the same spiritual mistakes over and over again".
The Mumbai attacks would not be the last. Prepare for more sufferings as it is due to more and more spiritual mistakes have been made and continue to be made.
Anyone fuelling [and sowing the seeds] with the attitudes of encourgaging disdain, dissatisfaction, displeasure, discord, etc, by overt and covert means are directly or indirectly contributing to the making of spiritual mistakes over and over again. When will humans make the U-turn to stop this?

The 12 men were detained under the Malaysian internal Security Act. The Advisory Board under the Act investigated them and lawfully released them.It seems Yazid is the only important person to reckon with and as such they have rehabilitated him given the fact that he had been in detention for the last six years. As there was no proof they could not be charged under the ordinary criminal law.
In the case of three persons executed in Indonesia recently they were charged under the new anti terrorist Act of that country, tried and convicted. They were not remorseful for the guilt committed. In the case of Malaysian detainees who were released were remorseful.
Objective of punishment is for rehabilitation and in this case the Advisory Board is satisfied that the objective is achieved. The reporting that the release was without publicity would connote several unpleasant meanings which in my opinion may not be conducive to bilateral isssue discussion agreed upon by Deptuy PM of Malaysia and PM of Singapore.given the fact that Malaysian Deputy PM and Singapore PM recently at the sidelines of an overseas meeting agreed that bilateral issues of both countries would be discussed.

Hope the Advisory Board is right. These are crafty men. They know how to hunker down to give a semblance of that have reformed. Mas Selamat is a classic example of one who has managed to fool his captors.

One Nair apologised on way to jail, but what next after release.
He sneered back from away a free man.
The 12 are free now.

According to the nature of things, we have to believe the decision of the Advisory Board as its members decide on the basis of majority opinion. The proceedings are recorded and the same could be viewed by higher authorities for accuracyIn the case of Yazid national security is not compromised because his release is conditional in that he could lnot leave Selangor without police permission. In the case of Nair perhaps the Police can apply for extradition to Singapore.
Mas Selamat never admitted his mistake nor remorseful. He has the history of escape. Because of this extra care should have been taken from escape.

Majority does not imply correctness of decision. A good example is the sudden collapse of the financial and stock markets where many were caught with their pants down.
Yazid is not in chains. What makes the authority thinks he will not or cannot run off? And if he decides to leave Selangor or the country, you mean he will ask the police for permission first? And just because a person does not have a history of escape means he will not try to escape? From what is known, he actually did not have any opportunity to do so. Being the case, would not a crafty person who knows his chance of escaping is virtually nil will go into play acting to give false impressions to his prison minders that he is remorseful and has turned over a new leaf? Wise up, man!

Remember the 3 men, Muhammad Shafi'ie Syahmi Sariman, Isrizal Mohamed Isa & John Tan, who refused to apologise for wearing those wallaby T-shirts outside the court, owing to their convictions/beliefs. However, were the penalties (spending 7 days, & in Tan's case, 15 days in prison) worthwhile?
In addition, each of them had to pay the AG's Chambers $5,000 in costs & disbursements, & be saddled with a criminal record.
The 3 of them could have apologised or withdrew their insinuations about the court, & been given a warning. When faced with a much more powerful opponent, with almost zero chances of winning, or emerging unscathed, it is best to cut one's losses. No shame in that.
I believe that the JI extremists have hoodwinked the not-too-intelligent Malaysian authorities, & will soon join up with their cells to continue their acts of terror in the region.

Eagle
I only fear is that you are too right about the not too intelligent individual who set them free.
