My sympathy to both you and Alvin Tan. Many Singaporean men have Singaporean wife or girlfriend who are not like that. Too bad you too kenna those type which that Alvin had portrayed--probably based on his own unfortunate experience--lor.
If both husband and wife contribute their efforts equally albeit in ways that they are best able to, then there won't be any problems in the first place.
From what I have seen, the problem with many marriages is that one of the spouse wants to take life easy, and dump the responsibility of raising a family to the other half.
Those who are not willing to take up the responsibility should not have any children.
i dun mind offending sin women/girls if it could knock some sense out of their heads. Seems Sg women and girls are educated but no internal worth. They pursue guys with cars(I got car), cash(I oso got), career(I got too), but not young anymore etc.
No car ppl, step aside go to second citizen q. Oso, look at the way girls dress these days, though SIN is hot but I am sure no parents will teach their children to wear super short shorts/skirts and scanty/translucent tops. Go and take a look at Orchard road, if we are to change the venue to Geylang, these girls can fit the scenes too well. Then got this super idea that losing virgin at young age is trendy. I feel most girls these days got nothing left liao ('bo-chun'). Sex education = use condom ? Who teach one ?
"... basically, Singapore men today are expected to behave like the gentlemen of a bygone era."
Let me correct you Alvin.
Singapore men are expected to behave as in the women's dreams, NOT from a bygone era.
Bygone means it was ever the case. Owning cars, earning sizeable incomes is not exactly a thing of the past.
The Singapore women have dreams, they want certain "attributes" in their men.
However, they simply fail to understand that Singapore men have dreams too, and those women who "want too much" simply don't feature in it.
