The opposition will be opposed for opposition sake. Because this was brought up by an opposition member, the more hard will be the stand - no compromise... at least for now, until every one forgot then "go s-tan".
I am still not convinced about how 'gas' is linked to crude oil prices. It is as 'unlinked' as coal to crude oil prices. It seems that only the CONTRACT which links 'gas' to crude oil.
And this CONTRACT needs to be looked into as well.
sin ppl should learn to have their own mind, dun always listen and follow the gov. Beginning this yr, to attain our global responsibility, a green effort to get ppl to go green save electricity was launch, there is lucky draw car. So, ppl listened and cut power consumption.
Due to less electric retailed to homes, to make up for the loss, electricity price goes up tremendously. In a way, it is smart cos it now give out a little but earn same level income or even more out of it. I dunno what is the real reasons they give, but this is a man-on-the-street thinking. And now there is even a penalty tax for using power.
So many ppl talk about opposition now. Assuming, if u vote for opposition, I am sure they can also produce good political results, just continue the current policies of coming up new taxes and ERPs and earn out of the ppl. Isn't that what 67% of Sin ppl love ?
""At the same sitting, I asked whether the electricity tariff formula was a state secret and if the full details of the formula would be published. The answer was that the Energy Market Authority would be happy to oblige, subject to considerations of commercial confidentiality.""
What clever answer from EMA. EMA would oblige to publish the formula but subject to consideration of confidentiality. As operators are privatized, they are not obliged to disclose the formula. Therefore, chicken and egg talk. EMA waiting for operators, operators waiting for EMA. So which comes first??? In the end, we can use a four letter word to discribe the answer from them, LPPL.
