Har! Har! Don't listen lah. Whole lot of people have been telling the gahmen and sports officials that the FTS is a damn dumb scheme, but they don't want to believe.

Now get suckered wholesale and end up with a few bought Olympic medals that no Rdian is proud of. I bet the Sports Council now feel 'pai seh' to put them up in its trophy case! Sure get laughed at! Imagine how visitors will point at them and start sniggering if they are put up on display! I bet the sports officials cannot tahan!

Given S'pore citizenship in Jan 2008, dumped it in Dec 2008? Wah! S'pore's citizenship paper must be cheaper than Scotts Toilet tissue.

The STTA should learn from the experience of Chelsea and the like. Bosses and officials should stop meddling in coaching matters. Give the head coach a budget and a target to deliver. Change the coach if he or she cannot deliver within a specific time frame. If the boss or official try to tie the hands of the coach yet demand that the coach produce results then it is not fair to the coach. I think the STTA should come forward and clarify the issue since Mr Liu has opened up his side of the arguments and give impression that STTA is absolutely in the wrong!

#6 (bohliao) - Time for a change lah! Otherwise S'pore will always have to depend on Chinese FTs to carry on defending the Olympics Silver. Very 'bohliao' and unfair to the locals. Most heart aching is to see more Sin $ in China banks.

26mayplace (#8) - I think it's coach Liu himself who is too 'big hearted'. He wants to be in-charge of both the men and women teams (according to a STTA official).

What happened in the Beijing Olympics already tell that he can achieve top results only for one team and he too admitted that he had to sacrifice the men team for the women's medal. So, he should accept his bosses arrangements. Probably this is also one reason why they did't pay him more than he has expected. Work scope reduced, how to increase pay? Just my opinion lah.
