ONE could not agree more with Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew's argument on the means Russia has been using to split the European Union's common stance, 'Navigating the new world order' (Sept 27).
Well the Polish certainly would want the EU to be united in opposition to ol Ivan.
If Europe minces around again as they are wont to do during such a crisis, All the nations surrounding Russia is going to feel a certain chill down their collective spines again.
'Does it want confidence and cooperation, or does it want distrust and an increasing tension? The EU would welcome a real partnership with Russia which is in the interest of all. But it takes two to tango and to have a partnership.'
The ball is now in the Russian court."
So long as oil remains an important commodity [flash points of conflicts] to mankind, there will be no world peace.
When will humans [and who dare to challenge the oil majors and stop their sabo, take them on] able to find a new clean and unlimited source of energy to replace oil, gas and nuclear?
Who has the vison to garner the political will, financial and economic power of all the major industrialised nations to take on the oil majors to beat them at their own game?
The UN and the UN's SG have no will power to launch the challenge. There is no clear leadership in sight.
We are in severe times as the world faces more deadlocks and deadends in all aspects of human activities and human lives. All are suffering.
