I READ with interest last Friday's article, 'Church member responds: 'We are different in our management of funds from most other faiths''.

It's a rather narrow perspective on last Friday's article to highlight the contribution of members of one faith over the others. Members of other faith have their own great personalities, further it is ironical to equate earthly wealth creation to the blessing of the Almighty. Although Wall Street has it's contribution to global economy, one cannot ignore the fact that it's driven by massive greed and self centered interest.
Servants of religious groups should be more than transparent and not take the tune that "we are more holy than the others and hence leave us alone". This could lead us down a dangerous path. Some sect have enclosed their members into their own little community and practice what outsiders would feel extreme.
It's disturbing that there could be peer group pressure for members to contribute to their church. For such well funded groups, members should be urged to contribute less, not more. Ye art the temple of the Lord, so say the holy book. There is no need to have places of worship to be beyond basic shelter over the head.

I would sure like to know how different are the funds in this "mega Church" being managed? as reiterated by Church member.

I would also like to know how much salary these so-called pastors and assistance are drawing, excuse me, including tithes obtain from good samaritans - be it monthly or weekly? And please be transparent about it!

Clear conscious, clear and transparent fund management.
Put the details on the web.

No use even to disclose their salaries or allowances. For members too obssess in their believe of religions, even if the leaders are paid ridiculously, they will still find that it is reasonable. Only when they fall out of the circle, then they will realise these facts.

Hi golden88 & all,
We all understand from press reports that there were a total of 7 large charities including Churchs & Temples that went through a Review that was initiated by the Commisioner of Charities (COC) sometime last year and in recent press reports, we were told that generally they all did well. I am very sure the Auditors involved and COC's office know how their funds have been managed and whether or not they are okay and proper. By casting any doubt now on any of these 7 charities may it be a church or a temple, will be no different from doubting the COC's Review and their findings that was made public.
If you are so interested, I think a call to COC will answer all your questions and doubts.
Otherwise stop doubting the COC's Review and the findings.
Have a great day ahead!
Rgds!

This a test for God to choose an honest leader to manage a church or temple. So far God has failed. Maybe God has to send someone to interview potential candidates and also check their credentials.

I agree for the tranperency. Some churches do have management meetings, like shareholders meeting, where the members can attend. Ultimately, the church goers have to use their common sense and not succumb to guilt-laced remarks made by charismatic leaders to "give 'till it hurts". As I've found out, "common sense" is not that common after all.....

Daryl Chan hit the nail on the head!! TRANSPARENCY according to our country's laws & public interests please NOT your god's "laws".

When millions are involved, TEMPTATION & human weakness set in. History has shown often enough that even the "holiest" humans in high office had succumbed to what is on NATURAL, nothing to do with the supernatural.
