the city that opens two casinos at one time will also ultimately put our stamp on the world map. all people around the world are invited to try their luck at the wheel of fortune there...big money, big money.
big wheels turning, the flyer, small wheels turning, the F1 tyres plus the roulette wheels are also a turning...

Do not believe when they tell u business will improve and increase after more ERPs set up in Chinatown less congestion- embarrassing U-turn. but save face claiming they are responding to retailers' woes as many shops pack up and go.
Do not believe it when they sat F1 will bring more business and compensate for the inconveniences, jams, etc. Hear what James Ong an affected business had to say :'''We had our worst week of sales. I strongly recommend that mall owners ask the Government to consider relocating future races to outlying areas so businesses in Raffles City, Millenia Walk, Suntec City or Marina Square will not have to suffer, while others enjoy themselves. The organisers should have compensated retailers for their loss of business. Not everyone welcomed or benefited from this race."'
Truth rings loud and clear for ivory tower planners.

F1 has indeed put Singapore into the world map.

However, lest not be over the moon.

Many, many areas can be improved.

First, LTA and traffic police have been over zealous. There were so many road blocks and closures that every walk of life was affected.

Second, supervision and use of manpower in particular on traffic control were much to be desired. Some of the road blocks were managed by many police, others are managed by 1 or 2 only. As a result there was no control on pedestrian crossing. I saw many were running across the roads at the risk of their lives. I also saw 1 policeman doing nothing but standing at the bridge after Gate 1 looking down the river.

Third, but not the least, taxi drivers were at a loss of how to get into the allocated taxi stands. My company kept on sending messages that there were great demands in those areas. But getting into these taxi stands was a complete frustration and stressful. The Authorites need to thoroughly examine the ease of allowing cabs into these areas so as to serve local and tourist alike in a blissful way.

There are many areas that can be improved on and mistakes to be corrected in reviewing the organisation's capabilities and capacities for future F1 race, and indeed on any other world's events

The road closures.

The TP should man all the traffic lights. Computers cannot response to grid lock traffic jams lah.
