Hello telemarketers, please don't call me, I am overseas, OK?

MY HUSBAND and I are Singaporeans posted overseas for nearly a year. We still hold our Singapore mobile phone numbers for professional reasons and also to allow family and friends to contact us in case of emergencies.
these thick skin organisations only understand strong vulgar language. authority not willing to act. I got a cold call from the worst bank I have ever experienced - ABN AMro . told them off in no uncertain terms what I thought of them losing my personal particulars. what if they fall into the wrong hands!
Just tell these nuisance off - I am not interested. don't call. end call.
I strongly believe this telemarketing industry need to be regulated, maybe with following suggestions:
1) All calls must have caller ID, so callers wont be subjected to vulgar abuses by telelmarketer when things got sour. This also serve to avoid fraud as caller can cross check the numbers with the company they represents. No more private number.
2) Telemarketers must disclose source of their contacts when queried. This is to avoid illegal trading of customer database.
3) Telemarketer companies need to register their numbers with telco, and so individual has freedom to request telco to block out potential call from telemarketers. The telco might consider charging a token sum for this service and Im sure alot of ppl will be happy to pay for it for peace of mind.
Guys, feel free to continue yr suggestions on this list....
I'll just tell them that I am not interested. If they carry on asking, I'll say shut up and end the call. Please refrain from using vulgarities. It just makes you look crass.
telemarketers are under pressure to sell, so of course they are persistent. if prospects are irritated by cold calls, why then is it still a marketing staple? simple, because it results in sales. as unbelievable as this may sound, some of the cold calls actually translate into sales. so if we don't want telemarketers calling, the best thing to do is not to heed such calls. as soon as telemarketing stops being effective, marketers will stop using it as a sales method.
Dear forum Editor, this matter has been already discussed some weeks ago. Why rake up the same issue over and over again. Or the writers donot get any interesting topic to write? It is indeed frustrating to see the same topic again and again.
I cant stand those calls too! The minute they introduced themselves, I say "No thanks, bye". Lucky my cell phone has free incoming calls! Hard sell these people!! Never give up at times and can be annoying too in the middle of your work day!
does the writer not have a land line? give the overseas number to family and friends for emergencies and turn off mobile phone when sleeping lah! walau what so difficult?
