They build our homes, but we want to deprive them of housing?

SERANGOON Gardens residents should try to welcome these foreign workers to their neighbourhood and co-exist with them for a time before jumping to the uncalled-for conclusion that their behaviour is wrought with vice.
Melody Fair? Who is the girl with the crying face? Looking at millions of signs. Yes, we must be grateful to these foreign workers that build our homes but with such a big population of them, how can we not run a risk? Dear Melody are you ready to have them visiting you? There must be a limit to everything and a line must be drawn. Prevention is the best medicine.
Not deprive them of home, the issue is the location... Putting low cost workers into middle class area just doesnt make sense... who is paying for it??
I m not a resident of serangoon garden...but i will hav the same worries..
if my housing estate is to be filled by a large numbers of forienge workers.
Its an issue of safety and security.
I will surely not let myself or my teenage daughter walk alone, as i feel these many forienge workers are lonely and hunger for woman body contact...plus when they are in big groups and are drunk they can get into a fights.
I think that workers should be house at the worksite...as they can blend well with their working enviourment and fellow workers.

again, your comments are deplorable. hey, i haven't heard you telling us that we should also put limit on those white collar expats!
hahahahah ... ;)
Your caption is wrong Mr. Editor. "They build our homes, but we want to deprive them of housing". Nobody wants to deprive the foreign workers of their housing. Only thing is we dont want them to live near us. Why not house them in Sixth Avenue?
what the problem of the living near you? all of us living around here are a child from once a foreign worker what... so all the while, we have always been living together with foreign workers what...
since when have we not been living with foreign workers? Singapore is totally build up by foreign workers from all countries and races since the history book begins...
they once call Singapore, the Pearl of South East Asia. the land of hopes and opportunities. and this has attacted millions of people to come here in search of better life... and thats exactly how Singapore is it today...
now they call Singapore, the land of Kiasu, Kiasi and haolian...
Quarters for foreigh workers should be built as temproary construction housing just outside housing estates and run as one condo unit.
Putting foreigh workers in large numbers near any private estates would attract opposite. No reason should be given.
The authority should solve the problems by providing decent living places for them since heavy levies are collected. The money should be put to good use.
Using space of empty schools is bad move in Singapore today. The property price and high cost of living of citizens should be considered first.
The authority should walk the talk in the first place by using money from levy to put up short term buildings.
