Be grateful if one is granted a PR in S'pore. It is relatively easier to get one and career opportunities aplenty. The safest and cleanest country one can find. What more to expect from the govt? You just chart your future from here.

The real difference in so called benefits between a PR and a citizen is minimal, especially if one has a high income and does not need public housing, further the basic medical care in Singapore is increasingly borne by insurance companies the state will no longer bear the brunt of it. Then the whole NS thing etc , there is very little incentives for PRs to want to take up citizenship.
Perhaps PR should pay a higher tax rate. So PRs give Singapore citizens and our state break instead.

what is so difficult? Just get lost and go back home if you think the benefits are not enough for you PRs. sick and tired of all their demands. Citizens are suffering the overcrowding effects of the massive influx of foreign PRs so-called dubious talents in school places, Unis, health, banks, supermarts, etc.
You don't do NS and spend about ten years on disruptive incamps and weekend mobilisations or infernal IPPT or RT punishment. Your sons can simply run away and don't come back if they want to escape NS.
What more do you PR want? Having deserted your own homeland but still clinging to her passport as an emergency escape chute should Spore sink due to global warming - live, work, enjoy, make $$$ here. Still not enough ? Please go and don;t come back if Spore is still not giving you sufficient benefits. Already giving PRs ten inches, nine inches at citizens' expense - the pR demands ten feet?!!!

To quote Rodney King, "Why can't we all learn to get along with each other?"

Wa lau, this discussion still ongoing?
Get a life and move on!
Enough said already.
Which PR have not got the points?
As a Singaporean, I also get sick and tired of the similar comments and grouses and opinions.

I hope they screen these people before granting them citizen status. Take for example, that radiographer - she is suffering from her own inability/unwillingness to re-adapt. She hates Singapore anyway. Cantoneses say, sai hei.

You make the bed and you lay on it la Singapore. You cannot satisfy anyone la because they wanted more and more la. Nothing is left for S'poreans already la.

Posters should ignore some people. Do not fall into their trap to waste your time.
