Public feedback needed
August 29, 2008 Friday, 04:19 PM

A GOVERNMENT-APPOINTED committee is inviting public feedback on its suggestions on how to deal with the challenges of new media.
The Advisory Council on the Impact of New Media on Society (AIMS) released a 95-page public consultation paper on Friday morning.
In it, the council makes suggestions on four broad areas: the use of new media by the Government to engage citizens; online political content; protection of minors; and the legal liability of online intermediaries.

All the feedback will be thrown down the drain. This will not be the first time.

Wayang, as they said, because they have already "concreted" what they wanted to do even before asking for feedbacks!

I rather they decide what they want to do, like they did with ERP, bus lanes, transport hikes, etc..... than to make a fool out of us!

Feedback? When is public feedback wanted at all? You know and I know that feedback is just a show. Don't ask for feedback when everything is already decided, pre-determined and implemented.

Want a genuine feedback? I suggest have a by in BB. That's the genuine feed-back and a genuine feel of the ground. Nothing to lose but everything to gain.

By having a feedback unit is an admission that grassroots organisations like the CCC are no longer effective or that these grassroots are feeding back to the respective MPs what they want to hear not really happens on the ground.

This is really a big joke.

These grassroots ppls spend most of their time eating grasses....

Present all sort of cooked up feedbacks to their MPs. MPs rely the same stuffs to the Master.

That's the usual SOP. They will praise themselves sky high from top to bottom claiiming to be Division 1 team and then vote for each other to have another sky high increment and bonus.

Grassroots are people who act as chorus to sing high praises of our dear leader.

Since when is real feedback from ordinary citizens ever given the light of day?

Another wayang SOP.
