High parking charges one reason why Flyer so quiet
August 04, 2008 Monday, 06:04 AM

ONE reason business is so poor at the Singapore Flyer is the expensive parking charges. A ride on the Flyer takes probably 11/2 hours, including waiting time, which at $1.20 to park for half an hour on weekdays between 5pm and midnight, costs $3.60. If you include a restaurant meal (11/2 hours) and browsing in the shops (half an hour), the total cost is an astonishing $8.40.

the flyer has yet to get its act together but for the sake of face they are claiming `success' of one million tickets in 5 months.
But with empty ghost town shops, inaccessibility, expensive parking and expensive ticket of almost $30 the `success' is a flop if you read carefully.
50% were sold to tourists, the rest mainly to grassroot organisations and corporate groups - they have to give discounts to groups and this means the paying customer who pays the full rate is almost completely missing form the figures.

It is madness. Where got so much money to be squeezed. Make it affordable to the general public to increase your custome volume rather than leave it empty.

They will claim (like most of Singapore): "we are worth it."

Same room, same bed, both naked and nude, but not same dreams or same thoughts lah.
Even twins cannot have it.

There is a free of charge bus service from Adelphi to bring you to Millennia Walk if you get down at the City Hall MRT.
I went up the Flyer two nights ago.
So dark. Could not see far lah.
Could not see the Changi Airport, BT Hill, Jurong, Sentosa, or JB, etc.

Why do people even bother? it is infinitely more superior to have tea in one of the big hotels and enjoy the view up there while you partake of your food at a leisurely pace.

Anyway, there isn't much of a view up there is it? I bet the Istana is not part of the view since this is forbidden.

Not too sure but I think you can get a better and free view if you take the lift up to the top of the westin stamford hotel?
